An amazing exploration into the past through Archaeology.
This is an amazing picture book for both young learners and archaeology enthusiasts that explains the science and how it helps us understand and interpret what life was like long ago. Each artifact and find is a clue that enables archaeologists, or diggers, to piece together a mystery.
The book is divided into sections that review sites like Machu Picchu, King Tut's tomb, and Stonehenge, that all have provided finds that unveil their region's history. It also explains that not all things are dug up; some archaeological finds are cave murals, wall paintings, stone carvings, even castles.
Explanations of terms and words provide a deeper education on what happens at a site dig and the process by which it is completed, and what happens after.
This book really heightened my curiosity on the areas covered in the book and everything that goes into learning more about the artifacts after the actual dig. This will be a great addition to any family or classroom library and will perhaps inspire its young readers to become future archaeologists!
