About Tara

Tara started her publishing career at Scholastic Inc. working on well-known licenses and brands such as The Baby-Sitters Club, Goosebumps, The Adventures of Captain Underpants, The Magic School Bus, Clifford the Big Red Dog, and Harry Potter paperbacks.

Her branding experience led her to Disney Publishing Worldwide where she helped launch major brand book initiatives such as Disney Fairies, W.I.T.C.H., and Baby Einstein. While there she worked also with Hyperion Books, crafting strategies for high-profile authors such as Maurice Sendak, Robert F. Kennedy, Caroline Kennedy, and Julie Andrews. She oversaw marketing and publicity launches for such works as Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson series, Eoin Colfer’s Artemis Fowl, and Mo Willems’s Pigeon books.

Having moved on to start her own author services business, Tara uses her broad experience and qualifications to build comprehensive, unique, and successful marketing and publicity plans for new titles, complete with press releases, author bios, email copy, and catalog/blurb copy.

Additionally, Tara helps authors and publishers refine their book content and pitches through copyediting and proofreading, and developing book proposals, query letters, and competitive analysis reports.

Tara’s lifelong love of reading has provided her with an excellent ability to critique a great story, and she enjoys sharing this experience through writing book reviews for authors.

Tara’s experience and relationships have helped make good books great. She feels it is a special victory to help authors in their pursuit to become published and reach readers everywhere with an amazing story and a lasting reading experience.
